The Vehicles Behind Fryeburg Rescue

Our coverage area is widely diverse -- home to a wide variety of terrain including lakes, rivers, mountains and back roads. To facilitate emergency care anywhere, there is a diversity of vehicles that will bring us to your side.

Home, Work or Automobile Emergencies

At Fryeburg Rescue we have three ambulances to get us there fast and safely. We use them for all types of emergencies ranging from slight dizziness to a severe heart attack or stroke.

On the left is 501, our secondary ambulance. It's a 2003 PL-Custom on a Ford E-450 chassis. On the right is 502, our tertiary ambulance. It's a 1999 PL-Custom on the same chassis. 503 (shown on home page) is our primary ambulance; a 2006 PL-Custom on a Ford E-450 chassis.

The Inside of our rescues:

Above is 504, our extrication truck, home to various tools including the "Jaws of Life".  It is a 2007 Ford F-550.

Deep Woods Rescue

For rescues deep in the woods of the Fryeburg area we have a specialty vehicle, our Polaris 6x6 with seasonal tracks for snow travel. On the back of the Polaris is a custom, member made rescue sled. It can safely carry a patient and two rescuers.

Water Rescue

For aquatic rescue, Fryeburg Rescue has its own boat; however, the main boat for rescue is actually owned by the Town of Fryeburg and operated by the Fryeburg Police Department.
