Fryeburg Rescue Association is a volunteer service that was started in the 1970's to administer emergency medical care to the towns of Fryeburg, North Fryeburg, Brownfield, Lovell, Stow, Chatham & East Conway. For almost 40 years Fryeburg Rescue provided a free service to residents and visitors a like. Due our changing coverage demographic Fryeburg Rescue began billing on February 1, 2011. The service is now staffed with paid and volunteer EMS professionals.
Our rescue association has come a long way since its beginning. Fryeburg Rescue has the ability to provide emergency medical services (EMS) at the paramedic level and have paramedics on call 24-7. A majority of our squad is licensed at the EMT-Basic level or above, insuring a high level of care anywhere in the coverage area. Fryeburg Rescue often works in conjunction with North Conway Ambulance Service, Conway Fire Department, and United Ambulance Service to insure there is a paramedic available in time of need.
How Our Service Works
When you dial 911 for an emergency in our coverage area we are dispatched to your location. Often, a member of Fryeburg Rescue will arrive at your location before our ambulance does. Every licensed senior rescue member has a "Jump Kit" with them in their vehicle. This is an enhanced and more diversified First-Aid kit. When the ambulance arrives you are transported to a hospital in the safest, most expedient way.
Fryeburg rescue mainly transports to North Conway Memorial Hospital or Bridgton Hospital, whichever you prefer, and is the most appropriate for the patient's needs. The crew may use their discretion to select the best hospital for the patient, and in what manner, either by our ambulance or Life Flight if necessary.
